Leeswood Coal Map    A map showing the top rock layers with the covering soils removed (till). The till was formed in the ice age when the glaciers ground away the upper rock layers. Looking at the map key, the layers below the surface layer remain underneath but the layers above have been removed. The Leeswood colliery locations are shown where the coal bearing layers remain.
